After the disappointment of the first Phantom Menace soundtrack, I was looking forward to this soundtrack, for the fact being that it was told that it had the entire Phantom Menace score. Something like every note composed. So how could you not get excited?

Well after I heard a few negative reviews, I still went in with an open mind, all the music from the movie is there which I am happy about. But the things that disappoint me about this cd is the fact that have cut and paste all the music. Yes it is in order but they don't let parts flow like in the movie. For Instance I could pick out numerous example, more so on the second cd. But I'll just use the introduction for example. You just hear the Star Wars Theme as one track and then it has been cut so the music doesn't flow straight after it. This may not bother some people...but I found this to be annoying and frustrating.

Besides the dodgy editing of the music, this is not every note John Williams had composed for The Phantom Menace. Only parts of the tracks were taken and used in the movie. So therefore you aren't getting everything.

Notice in the special edition soundtracks that most of the tracks were a lot longer, where if you look now a lot of the tracks are about 1-2 minutes. With the longest being 5 minutes and that isn't including the end credits.

This soundtrack is probably better then the first Phantom Menace soundtrack cos it has a lot more music and it is in order, but its still not great.
